Origin Story

Functional Family is a Developmental Health organization dedicated to supporting a culture of healthy functional families with Afro-Indigenous identity at the center. 

Beginning in 2025, we review and create foundations for Sovereignty in modern times. We recognize the well-being of ourselves and the generations to come through us as the destiny of the future. We learn from the past and maintain a sustainable present. We hold ourselves accountable and promote the actualization of those we serve. 

We assert that equity is meeting each member and prospective member where they are, without pressure, comparison, or exploitation. Our services continually provide and support equity for people of the Diaspora, finding their way to stability.
